Our conversion is in. As of last Tuesday, it was installed. We started the bus up on diesel and ran it for about 15 minutes and accidentally ran it out of fuel. We haven't been able to get it started since

We ended up using a lot more parts, fittings, hose, etc. I will try to update with a complete parts list soon!

We teamed up with a local filmmaker, Atomic Independent Pictures to make a documentary about our Waste Vegetable Oil System. The system was designed using WVO Designs components and parts from McMaster Carr, several online retailers, and the local hardware stores/auto stores for parts we missed when ordering online. I'd just like to add, for anyone that follows this thread and is using it to help design their own system. Our valves we had before were junk. They failed. They had a nylon piece inside to divert the flow. Had I known this before I wouldn't have bought them. We replaced them with a proper valve rated for temperature, with a brass ball inside.

Very cool project and informative video. I've studied WVO conversions a bit myself and you did everything right. You scored on getting sponsored for most of the parts. I might do a WVO conversion in the future, and am buying a bus with the identical motor to my truck to aid in interoperability. I also have a parts truck with another 7.3l motor that might find itself used as an off-grid backup generator at some point. Eventually I'd like to have them all running on WVO. But one step at a time.

Thanks for sharing White99z! Someday I'll be jumping on the WVO bus too. I'm in the research stage now to decide what my ideal bus and engine will be.

Three questions about your video. You mentioned mounting your raw WVO tank above your existing tank on the bus. That's a LOT of weight on one corner. What are your plans to balance that? I'd also be concerned about that much weight that much higher than the center of gravity, especially if the tank has no baffles. What is your thinking on this?

What would be required to mount the tank on the opposite side of the bus? I can tell that a gravity fed system to your centrifuge wouldn't work, so what kind of pump(s) would you need to install?

And out of curiosity, how much waste do you generate with the centrifuge per 55gal drum of raw WVO? I imagine it can vary a lot depending on its source, but what is the range you have you experienced?

I've been running veggie oil for almost 4 years now all in a 7.3 idi I used an adjustable pressure veggie oil specific pump to move the oil from the holding tank through the heat exchanger and two heated racor filters into the fuel lines. I just built out my new 92 6.6 bluebird now I'm curious what pressure I should have my pump set at to send fuel to the Bosch injection pump

Depends on the pump, but with my DT466 with the bosch inline I didn't need to add another lift pump.

Im just concerned because when I did my first conversion I ended up killing my fuel pump, after I added a veggie specific pump with a pressure regulator I didn't have any more problems
