Newbie: ElDorado/Aerotech shell has soft roof/leaks. HELP
Hi All!
I'm new to the forum and new to coach conversions. Here is the scoop. My friend bought a mini coach, Ford 3fifty (sorry five key is broken on laptop) with an El Dorado/Aerotech shell. I'm not sure of the exact year but it's a 90's model. We are in the process of modifying the bus to use for dog rescue/disaster response. I noticed a bow in the ceiling a little forward of the roof vent and from the roof vent to the back. It's a bit soft too which I believe is creating the bow around the pop up vent and allowing water to leak in. The shell appears to be all fiberglass, how in the heck do you fix this? Is there a seam along the top edges where you can remove the fiberglass roof panel? This bus also has a wheel chair lift on the back "passenger" side.
The closest I've come to a problem like this is replacing the transom in my classic fiberglass boat. The only wood was the transom between two fiberglass skins, had to dig out the rotted wood and use a pourable fiberglass transom product called Sea Cast. Have no idea how to tackle this horizontal roof problem. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
