2000 minibird transmission troubleshooting
I was recently given a 2000 bluebird mini bird
When I got the bus it would not shift into reverse but would drive. It has a 4l80e transmission rebuilt by jasper and installed about 15 years ago.
after driving it about a mile it went into neutral and stayed there. I had it towed the rest of the way to my house and after doing a little investigating and research it seems that it was run low on transmission fluid ultimately putting it into limp mode. After resetting the system it shifted into all gears fine
But only a few times and then quit shifting into gear.
This was fixed by turning off and back on shifting into gear and then not. leading me to believe thats it is an electrical problem
So the first thing I feel i should replace is the TCM
But I am having a very difficult time locating the TCM
any leads or advice would be much appreciated
