2001 International 3000 engine sound

My engine just started making a weird sound. Didn’t notice until I got out at a stop. It’s loudest at the very front. Below is a link to a video where you can hear the sound. I point to the general area it’s coming from... but it’s basically just from right inside the front.

Is this a bad sound? Sounds like maybe a fan??? But I know nothing about Diesel engines....

That's a bearing going out or a slipping belt making that noise.

Thanks guys. We’re hanging tight at a truck stop for the night and taking it to a mechanic in the morning...

guess we’ll be delayed as we flee civilization...

I was just digging through my old posts and realized I never gave the update. Better late than never, I guess... it was the bearings, and I think the belt itself ended up needing to be replaced. Got it in before it destroyed the whole engine though, so that was good. All in it cost us about a grand, maybe a bit more.

Just in case anyone in the future ever stumbles across this while trying to solve their own problem.
