I bought an acoustic tach from the AP store for my android phone called Rc-Tachometer. Works great on all engines including the ol 8.2. I work at BorgWarner in our turbocharging test facility and have tested this ap on many engines and its dead nuts...

Best of all $2.99 AP purchase....Now you dont have an excuse about engine speed..

How does this work to give engine RPM while going down the road?
I have a laser tach for checking pump motors and blower motor squirrel cage RPM but you have to point directly at the pulley/Sheive or shaft and most of the time make a timing mark for it to work.
Interested but want more info on how it might retrieve the info I need.
I could have someone else drive,pull the dog house cover and read the driveshaft but that's total output of the engine tranny combo at road speed.
How can it help me get engine only rpm while at road speed? Or can it?

Maybe I can tie the phone up under the hood and it would log the data for me to retrieve after a good run?
