Sorry man. If it weren't for the restrictive nature of post editing on this forum, I'd delete it for you.

It's all a good joke man. I'm going to pay what I'm willing to pay and that'll be it.

these auctions add up quick. i just used the gas buddy ap to see how much gas its going to cost to go get it. + $200 fuel for my truck or +$400 for a bus trip.

Damn. I was just in an Allison shop a couple hours ago and I forgot to ask what the difference is between a B300R and an MD3060.

I should be back there again sometime next week. I'll make sure to ask while I'm there.

a couple of years ago i switch my home landing page on public service, to the motor pool parts, transmission auctions. waiting for these.....between mine and another post's there are 2 more available.

as far as public service auction , this is the first, new in box, direct replacement for my currant trans, with lock up that i have seen while looking for one. that next one from the same vendor doesn't even look like they opened the box yet. i've seen other new in box non compatible, and i've seen plenty of used 545 trans cores.

i was unaware of 1545's prior to this auction. but having one in a box in the garage will make me feel better about any camping trip or trailer i go on.

Damn man, That's one heck of a deal. New, in the box 1545 for 520? You can't beat that. Biggest hassle will be the drive to pick it up now.

Thanks Booyah, but i'm waiting for you to show me up. good luck on your own auction.

i was already expecting to pay $2k for a rebuilt trans so i am ahead. the lock up feature was a deal clincher for me.

the advantage of the 1545 over the MT643 in a swap is that would be a direct swap in..

so, excuse my ignorance here..... or anytime really, but does the third picture in the following link show the torque converter? would that be the right one if it is?

Yep, that's the torque converter.

Whether or not it'll bolt up to your flywheel, I'm not sure. My guess would be that it will.

thanks for confirming that, i was scared for a moment or 2 of one not being available.

in reading other threads that pop up when you google AT1545, i came across this gem of wisdom. since i have no immediate need to do the swap, how hard would it be to replace the OEM seals with ptfe? whats he talking about willis?

Here is the problem with new old stock tranny replacement. The new seals are PTFE and can hold 20% more pressure and have considerably longer life than the OEM. Also, if like me, the torque converter needs upgraded with new input hub and the single locking ring replaced with a three clutch setup. They do this on a lot of racing diesels.

So while NOS is available to replace the entire tranny, you won't have the upgrades that are known to make this a better tranny.
