Yep, I'm new here.

Do any of the rear engine buses have an AT545 tranny? So many of the auctions only specify that it is an automatic transmission and some cannot tell me what the model# is.

Yes RE's were often equipped with 545's. Ask for pics of the shifter. That will tell you more. Or ask for pics of the actual transmission.

What am I looking for on the shift lever? I believe that I've seen the push button console for the MD3060 transmissions.

Mine is an RE with 545. The shifter is a lever. I believe that the buttons are 1000/2000, not sure about the others.

Probably same shift lever on AT545 and MT643. I have one of each, and see no difference on the levers.
Here is more info:

ther 643 and 545 use the same shifter.. underside pics you can tell tjhe difference in trans... the 643 has a ring of bolts around the tailshaft the 545 does not.

the shifters on the 1000/2000 will say N-D-4-2-1. the shifter for a 3000 will always have a display.. even if its the T-handle shifter will have a digit display. and the pushbutton shifter is a 3000 (usually MD3060).

From the Allison manual. The AT545 series without P could be the same as the MT643.
