Belt from Caterpillar C-7 to Compressor

Howdy y'all,

I have a large belt that needs to be replaced on my 2005 Thomas Saf-T-Liner HDX with a Caterpillar C-7 Acert and Allison transmission. The belt runs from the engine to a compressor (on the driver side). The compressor used to be connected to the A/C condenser (which has been removed).

The belt itself is 102" in length and has two ribs.

I've talked to some folks from Thomas at Kerlin Bus Sales and they said based on my description that the part number for the belt is CDU50-62010-00. However, based on the measurements and the diagrams I have found online, I'm not sure that it is the right belt. Does anyone have any advice?

Thanks in advance!

Why replace it if you don't have the ac system installed? I'd honestly remove the belt, idler, pulleys, compressor, 2nd alternator, etc. to free up space in the rear. You then might be able to resell the components and make some money.

But keeping all of that stuff for a non-functioning system is pointless imo.

I was considering doing that and may go that route. It would also reduce some of the weight.

I did like the idea of having the second alternator, but I'm sure there is a simpler solution to having a second alternator installed.

For those wondering, I purchased two B-99 belts from Napa that should be a good replacement for the 2B-99 belt currently in place. Kerlin's belt was $255 for the belt and Napa had two B-99 belts for $77.

The important belt on that engine is the little v-belt that drives the water pump.

Which one is the v-belt? The little one on the compressor just inside of the large 2B-99 belt from the engine to the compressor?

His looks to be driven by the serpentine belt. So no v-belt to forget about and neglect.
