DT466 Overheated!

Hi y’all, writing from GA, here we go!
DT466 1997 International 3000

Took our bus out for 1 hour drive. Haven’t taken it for more than 10 min before in the past 6 years.

It went past 230 degrees and shut off while driving 1/2 hr into the drive.

I pulled off and noticed a coolant leak. Fixed that and put more in the large rubber hose at the head and inlet.
We got a mile going 60mph and when it hit 210 we pulled off, cooled off, and repeated.

I decided to go 50 mph and it stayed at 180 the rest of the way.

When we got to our destination, the temp sensor/switch was broke off. Idk when that happened. Where do I get a replacement? I found the original for $150 (part: 1002-07324-36) but there’s one at AutoZone for $15 (part: 505-5101) that has a shorter tip.

Before our trip I drove 10 min around town and white smoke billowed out of the breather hose into the cab making it impossible to breath.

Of course I’ll get a new temp sensor but is my engine screwed? Did I blow the o-rings in the engine?

Two things i would check, engine off- the color of the oil on the dipstick, engine on- any white smoke from the exhaust pipe.
Tip- always check oil and coolant level b4 you start the engine, especially after sitting for a long while.
