DT466E Timing Cover Compatibility

Anyone know what years are compatible?
I need a cover for my 2003 DT466 and have one available but not sure it will fit. A fellow member has been helping me figure this out and he's found some scrap parts in some retired buses he has access to.
My tensioner pulley is in a different spot.
What yall think? Here's the one on the scap bus-

Thanks for any help!

Does your correct part number end in C 1-2-3-4, etc?

Yes it does. All the Nvistar parts do, afaik. its #1820465 I don't know what C"?" it is.
Don't know the difference between c1, c2, etc and the number is cast on the INSIDE of the part.
Mine runs well enough to move around so I'm not trying to pull it apart until I can figure that out. That's why I posted the thread.

All the ones I find for 2002-2004 non-egr's are C4's. But I'd hate to assume anything. Pretty sure I need a C4. The inner is another story.

You are correct that is a C4. Navistar, who is really less than helpful, says that cover was on about 11 different model trucks over 4 years. VIN will help them tell me more.

Tried to PM you, but it says your box is full.

Vin is no help and my SN isn't working in their system.
The service dept insist on trying to sell me one for an EGR.

Its been frustrating. I've got a lot of projects to finish this year.

They tell me 1826419C2 or 1820465C3 are interchangeable. That should widen your search a bit.

Would one from an RE application with the tensioner in the middle somehow work? See pic.

I would check the part# for the RE and see if it's one of the 3 compatible part #s

The engine in the pic is a three hour drive and then I still have to pull it to check. Well, actually the guy said he'd pull it but I'm not gona put him though that unless I'm sure about the pulleys and all that. Haven't seen a DT with the tensioner in the middle like that.
Guess its a no-go.

the belt train is different on an RE because of the Fan deopending on the model of Bus.. ive seen RE's whewre access to the engine was through a side panel and the fan still was the rear of the bus but the direction is opposite.. then ive also seen DT in RE where the fan is on the side. and it has a wierd belt drive to a box which spins the fan... tensioner ends up in different spots as a result... i guess knowing if there is a Boss on that cover for a tensioner in the correct position is key.

Mine's toast due to poor manufacturing and improper coolant maintenance. Its a fairly well-known defect among Navistar techs but not much out there about it for us owners.
Mine leaks bad. Bad enough that I don't drive it and am leaving it be until I can fix it right.

Could you post a picture of yours?

Take a close look at yours, and see if there is a bolt hole where the tensioner is in this picture?

Many times covers like that have multiple places to bolt things. Maybe its the same cover with both bolt locations???

Mine is missing the bolt hole that the RE one has.
I'd post a pic but hard to get one with it in the bus.
