Hourly rates for mechanics

How much do you expect to pay for mechanical work on your engine. I'm curious to figure out if my are is just super expensive :P When I picked up my bus from Arizona, I stoped for maintenance in North of LA and paid 90$/hour. Now in western Washington state, I get quoted around 130$/hour. Which one is consistent with your experience?

Kinda depends on the area but, those aren't particularly out of line. I'm surprised that the CA one was under $100.

$70-$14 an hour around here. Usually on the higher end of that scale!

I just had my starter replaced, shop charged me $110 an hour (Philadelphia suburb).

I work at a diesel truck shop and our rate is $78.00 per hour which is on the low end of the scale. I guess that we are always booked and always busy!

Wow! I do all my own work but I guess I'm not charging enough. Guess I'll charge $125 an hour!?!
