What tool would remove this clip? This is the hydraulic fan sensor that mounts to the coolant pipe. I want to remove the pipe to get it out of the way for other engine maintenance items.
Some of those are designed so you push it in further from the other side, and that forces the two pin's out enough to pull the sensor off.
Others of them you have to remove the clip from the other side with a small pick. This is the more risky way because the clip might go flying across the yard if you're not careful.
With both of these, make sure the clip is back in where it belongs, the o-rings are intact, and it will just push back on until you hear it click.
I tried futzin' with it using a screwdriver but no dice. There must be some kind of tool that unloads the tension? I am buggering up the fitting if I keep making the primitive Pete attempts!
