I have long been tempted to put an electric fan clutch on my Dodge Dakota!

Let's see... (I'm expecting company any moment -- brain not quite on task)... Millicent is a 1992, with a HP rating of 190. Neverenuffhp turned it up a tiny bit (fuel plate all the way forward), in addition to the governor adjustment. She has 295/75R22.5. She'll do 63, level and no wind. She'll get to 65, which is a solid 2,600 RPMs on a good aftermarket tach, and stay there with just a brief "push".

Albatross-bus is 1994; same HP rating, and 11R22.5 tires which are an inch or so taller. On level ground, no wind, she tops out around 2,300-2,400 and 53 MPH. Though... I don't quite trust the factory tach.

53 and 2,400 -- that sounds like Millicent before Neverenufhp's magic.

maybe my calculation of the rear in DEV at 4.78 are wrong.. since I can run 2700-2800 at 65-68..
im thinking my 11R22.5's are like 41"?

My 1998 IC AmTran with 466e and AT545 appears to be throttle limited to 65.
Once it gets to 65 the engine goes to idle and the gas pedal is like "disconnected" from the engine. i.e. no matter how you much you push the go pedal, the engine will not rev. until the speed comes down to say 63.
Even if you shift it into neutral, it will not rev. beyond idle until the speed has come down to 63.

yes the T-444E and the DT-466E are limited simply by the computer as far as speed.. RPM's are hard coded and not easily altered .. the speed limiter is easy to remove with a scan tool.

How hard is it to change the transmission over in a bus? I have changed the transmission in my hot rods (turbo 350). Do you know how much they run and where to get them?

all depends on what ytou are going from and to. I dont know the cummins.. an MT-643 is an all mechanical transmission so its going to be the easiest as far as not needing any electronics to run it... you may need an adapter ring for the bell to make it match thje cummins bolt pattern.. the front driveshaft will have to be shortened (easy).. depending on the gear ratio and engine it came from you may need a different governor gear so the shift RPM / speed are correct...

I pull my jeep with an at545 with a t444e. I lose about half a mile per gallon tho...No overheating issues. That is a rocky mountain tested fact. My rad is more than half for cooling the tranny. Probably 60% trany rad 40% engine rad. It's a 4 core. The only time the floor got warm was when I helped my buddy move. Had a house full of stuff and 5 people. Floor got too hot to sit on for the cutie that was sitting beside me. lol

Thinking of buying a 1972 International Load Star school bus

Can anyone tell if part may still be available for this bus , it's a 4 manual transmission - gas bus. don't have all the details but it needs a Carb and brakes line.
Another question is are these repair costly?

Thx in advance

Looking for some help identifying this transmission

Took this picture this morning on my 04 international bluebird. Not sure how to read this and scouring the internet didn't help.

Pretty sure that's an Allison 2000-series, given the "2000" in the corner and the vintage of your bus. The only thing I'm certain of is that's a pop rivet.

Go to allison website search for my transmission / my allison, then put that serial number in, it will tell you all about it .. but in 04 it’s most likely a 2500 PTS
