An Eaton super 10 will give you 30% od. So about 80 mph top speed. A lot of people don't like them because they are shifted like a 5 speed with 2 speed rear axle. I've driven them and didn't have any problems.

I have too. And they work great when lightly loaded or bobtailing, compared to a regular shift pattern. I'd almost prefer them to be honest.

The people I know of who don’t like eatin are because many are non synchro. It takes more skill / effort to drive than a Spicer 6+1 or other synchro box.. maybe they make synchro super 10s I don’t know.. I’m of the mind the more gears the better. You can choose for the desired conditions best.

Once you get used to a non synchro box you won't want to switch back. My Ford F-800 has the fuller 6 speed direct box with synchromesh and I will change it out for a super 10 first chance I get.

Rear end swap is easier and much cheaper, problem with a super 10 is that it will weigh over twice as much

I'm definitely seeing that a rear end swap is the way to go. 4.11s would be ideal for my setup. My trans is Synchromesh so it shifts just like a car. I wouldn't mind a crash box with straight cut gears- my tractor has them and I float gear changes instead of stopping and selecting. I think the Eaton that's in there is more than capable of handling a stock DT466 though.
