No start 1995 Genesis

I think I have a problem with the ignition interlock system. 1995 Genesis with the dt466. Interior buzzers are going even with all doors closed and starter will not activate using the key. I can start it when I jump the starter.

If the buzz is on and you're sure it's from one of your emergency hatches check all the wiring ... many buses won't start with a door open. If the wire is busted you might have to figure out how to complete the circuit to turn the warning off.

mine has an interlock on the back door lock, if the door is locked with the barrel bolt, won't start and buzzes

Check that the roof hatches are closed and latched properly.

That was the problem. Roof latch was not lined up with the sensor. Now that I can start the bus, why would the buzzers still be going off when all doors are closed and latched?

Is your air pressure built up? There will be a buzzer until the air pressure gets up to level.

Yes that buzz stops when air is built up. The buzzers by both emergency exits are still sounding continuously.

Did you mess with any of the wiring at the door latches?
If not, make sure they're good and tight when you latch em.
Back door and emergency windows would be likely culprits here, I'd imagine.

There are hundreds of reasons you could be having this problem. Search "skoolie starter issue" on google to read countless threads on it. Most of the time, as east coast replied, it's due to the owner taking out something that wasn't meant to be removed. Then the bus doesn't start. Emergency alarms, door latches, original wiring. Put it back together the way it should be and start from there.

Additionally there is a new member forum where you are encouraged to introduce yourself. You haven't given a whole lot of history on your bus which is why experienced members are probably wary of giving you advice.

starter still spins after all those parts and with ignition key removed?

Did you replace ignition switch?
They do wear out and then do funky things.

Thanks, went to newbie thread , submitted post, must have done sumphin wrong.

I have scoured this site for days, closest I. Got was c has been detailing starter interlocks disabling , printed out all he put up, much thanks but my bus is different and didn't correlate.

I got it running today but starter stays engaged, 37mt Delco Remy appears problematic and had I known then what I know now would prefer the Navistar recommend 41mt, also fuel cutoff solenoid inoperable but found a trick to manually operate and let start/run position hold it on.

much more...

sorry if I seemed a little rude, just very frustrated.

yup.

I have not replaced ignition switch, tired of guinea pigging and it seems to function in all positions.

I am trying shimming starter a little more tomorrow hopefully if it stops pouring rain awhile, with everything unhooked except primary battery power to starter ...it runs on and on.

It's a conundrum.

No worries... I didn't respond earlier, and now I can clearly see you know way more about the starting system on these things than I do.
This is my first diesel and fortunately I don't have to deal with a single passenger safety interlock. I can start and run with my back doors and side door open.
My back doors simply have a buzzer (that I gutted) and a red light on dash.
I've read that some of the shifter levers are kind of sketchy though.... Gotta be in exact right position.

A few weeks ago I was clueless, took a crash course in dieselology.
