Nothing Happens When I Turn the Key

My dad bought a school bus somewhere around 2013. It’s a 2000 International 3000 Series 38 Bus (according to the title). I know nothing about busses, or even cars for that matter. My dad passed away in September of 2019. Now, the bus hasn’t been used since July or so of 2019. It hasn’t been started as far as I know. The keys were lost for a minute so we couldn’t even try to start it.

Finally we found the keys. And the bus won’t do anything. It doesn’t click, the lights won’t come on, the horn won’t even honk. Please help.

I agree, the batteries may be disconnected or dead. There probably will be at least 2, occasionally 3. Where are you located? Someone nearby may be willing to help (I'm in North Georgia.) I have an '01 International and it's likely a "3800" series (this was IH's school bus chassis at the time).

When I turn my switch on, I get dash warning lights, a loud, reassuring "CLICK" from the control panel, and my air pressure alarm (if under ~80 PSI).

The batteries are most likely discharged from sitting...

Where are you located?

I would start with inspecting the batteries -- verified they're hooked up,
VERIFY they have enough fluid in them.
If the cases appear bulged, cracked, leakage in any way DO NOT attempt to recharge them -- If they froze over the winter, they may be damaged and recharging will yield bad things...

IF no evidence of damage -- recharge the batteries and cross your fingers they come back to life -- this will depend on their age and how long they've sat discharged which is not optimal storage for them.
