Transmission Cooler Hose

My transmission cooler lines were leaking between my MD3060 and the water to oil heat exchanger. So I notice one is 100r2at and the other is 100r5. Are these intentionally different? They currently run right below my exhaust under the turbo. I want to make sure they are high temp resistant. My local Napa only has 100r2at, but I could go elsewhere for a 4wire or something else. Don't want to overthink it, but the hoses are cheap and the JIC12 fitting are expensive. Napa was around $200 for two 3ft hoses.

If you can find an industrial supply / hydraulic shop they should have better pricing for your hoses and have a better selection of hose material.

Both would be marginal in the situation. Don't get me worng, either would work, as the pressure limit there would never be close to being exceeded. The issue is temp, especially near the hot exhaust.

I'd see if you can find somewhere that has ptfe with stainless braid. Yes it's overkill, but the hose is the cheap part of the equation, go with the better option. Do it right and do it once or some such saying.

pirtek was about $50 more for the same hose as napa. They do have a high temp variant. Ill see what the difference is. I can always add a sleeve as well.

Pirtek doesnt carry the high temp model. Called a few other places and no one had a higher temperature hose that could be crimped directly to a AN -12 Female fitting, they would all need to use adapters. So i went back to Napa and it was actually cheaper to get 3/4 hose and -12 fittings(rather than 5/8 to -12). So what i might do is just run it through 1.5in silicone sleeve for the section that crosses the exhaust side of the turbo.

Just following up here. I wrapped the hose in the same stuff used to protect air hoses going between a semi truck and trailer. I did this to help protect the hose from abrasion.

On top of that, i added a heat sleeve to both hoses to protect from the exhaust pipe heat and engine oil pan.
