Transmission cooler Rusted
Need help finding a source for mt643 transmission cooler. This is for my 1999 blubird 8.3l Cummins turbo. The coolant tubes are leaking and I'm updating those with radiator hoses. Any help or tips on keeping my transmission cool would be great fully recieved!

you could probably delete the factory heat exchanger if you added a huge oil cooler. go to jegs and get the biggest one they sell. splice it into your cooler lines and to the fan clutch.
a radiator shop may be able to fix up a heat exchanger, idk. you could go to a pick and pull salvage yard and find one too.
the trans lines have a steel braided cable inside the rubber coating. heater lines are not strong enough.
good luck

ouch! they are sure proud of that.
you are on the right track.
i added a big transmission cooler to my system and have both a heat exchanger and a cooler.
the benefit of the heat exchanger is that it keeps the trans oil warm too. with my big oil cooler, the trans fluid never seems to hit operating temp.
i use my bus in the summer primarily, so i look for more cooling than heating. if i was in a cooler climate, i would install a bypass to the big cooler.
if you live in a winter area, i'd go the same route and replace the exchanger. if you are planning on towing/or only running in the summer, maybe consider both or just the cooler and electric fan.
good luck

Peachy, I need the same and both of your links are "dead" (part not available). How much were they?

Well it started with the transmission cooler and quickly turned into replacing all cooler lines steel and heater hose, radiator, and a couple of transmission lines. All parts ome from bluebird dealer. Close to $2500 in parts.

That's nuts!!! Yes, they are bus/truck parts and large but $2500 is stupid. Except for the radiator, you should be able to replace everything with off the shelf stuff. Hell, even the radiator and heat exchange could be homemade. Put a small car radiator in an aluminum box with two fittings and you have a liquid heat exchanger. <-- Probably the route I will go.
Note to self: practice welding AL.

The radiator was built by a radiator shop and the cooler was from bluebird. I just didn't want to worry about heat problems causing an early demise of my engine.

I expected/suspected as much with that price. Still way too high for what it is tho.
P.S. Yes, I'm that cheap with most things.
