I'm not a mechanic but I'm guessing it's the air system pressure relief valve commonly referred to as the "pop-off" valve.

its a quick release brake valve to release the air from your service brakes fast so they dont drag after you lift your foot off the treadle valve (brake pedal). they are sometimes used to quickly deflate air suspension. also as yours only uses 1 delivery line i think if you follow the lower (delivery) line it will go to a air bag (the brakes would use 2 delivery lines)

No help on the device identification other than it is an air device and a dump valve sounds about right.


But wow ... your undercarriage is imaculate! I think I could eat off the underside of your floor. It looks like a brand new bus!!!

upper line is supply lower 2 are for delivery to brakes or air bags. i haven't seen then used anywhere else since 78 but there are always exceptions

my Superior uses one and it is spring suspension.. and mine leaked air when the parking brake was off so I changed it..
