6.0 Diesel AC Delete, Replace with Alternator

I've done a bit of Googling, but haven't had much success finding a result. Has anyone heard of anyone replacing an AC Compressor with a second alternator? I'm considering adding a high-output alternator just to feed the house batteries (I do intend to follow the advice on these forums in order to ensure proper charging for Lead/Acid batteries). Since the AC Compressor is conveniently located and I've deleted the road AC, that seems as good a place as any to slip in the new Alternator. Does anyone know if this is easily accomplished or will involve custom bracketry?

Adding a 2nd alternator will probably be much more of a job than simply upgrading the original to a higher-amp version.

Try the Skoolie search engine type "second alternator"

Here you go. Two alternators and you get to keep the AC compressor.

Wow! Thank you guys for all of the suggestions! The dual-alternator kit might be a worthwhile investment.

Another vote for a bigger alternator and retaining your AC system. Maybe less of a concern in New Jersey but if you ever travel you will miss your air conditioner!
