6.0 Diesel AC Delete, Replace with Alternator

I've done a bit of Googling, but haven't had much success finding a result. Has anyone heard of anyone replacing an AC Compressor with a second alternator? I'm considering adding a high-output alternator just to feed the house batteries (I do intend to follow the advice on these forums in order to ensure proper charging for Lead/Acid batteries). Since the AC Compressor is conveniently located and I've deleted the road AC, that seems as good a place as any to slip in the new Alternator. Does anyone know if this is easily accomplished or will involve custom bracketry?

Adding a 2nd alternator will probably be much more of a job than simply upgrading the original to a higher-amp version.

Another vote for a bigger alternator and retaining your AC system. Maybe less of a concern in New Jersey but if you ever travel you will miss your air conditioner!
