Removing pnuematic governor

My bus is engine is a V8 1988 Ford econoline 350 with a short bus chassis. I have a "Sturdy" (that's the brand) Road and speed engine control governor that needs to be removed or disable because the speed is set to 45 and it stresses me and the engine out. It is easy to access in the back of the engine but I don't want to just start ripping things out and I'm having a hard time finding information to guide me. Any ideas? Or if you have links or videos that would be helpful too.
