1974 c60

I have a 1974 C60 bluebird 20000 lb GVW. The bus has 2 vacuum boost cylinders mounted on the frame and a master cylinder on the cowl. I have been thinking about upgrading to a Hydro-boost master cylinder. Is this possible? Is it a good idea?

I prefer hydro boost over vacuum boost. With fabrication, anything is possible.

Big thing would be to make sure the power steering pump is compatible with whatever hydrobooster you use. Most of the time it's no big deal and it will work but some stuff is marginal at best and would require you to upgrade. Hoses are simple, you can hunt around for an oem fix, but a lot of auto parts stores will have the ability to create custom hydraulic hoses.

What did the latest version of a gas C60 have for brakes? Maybe can get the setup out of a junkyard?

Air brakes are the most current, but I don't want the red tape hassle. There are Hydro boost systems that have an "engine off" backup. Thought of combined vacuum / hydraulic / electrical backup sounds almost perfect.

I have checked local junk yards for wheels and found that anything older than 10 years gets sold at 85.00 a ton 😣
