Definitely keeping this in mind.
A tow bill can easily be half to a 1/4 of what it costs to have a rebuild done.

200,000 out of a 350 ain't bad. Tear into it and see what's salvageable. Luckily there still are 350's out there to be found easily if you need one.

Yeah, those days are long over for me. Also, I live too far from any shop to be able to do it economically.
I'm going to order a long block today.

That's funny. A friend of mine is a crop duster and had a radial engine that was toast. I wanted to do the same thing with it but decided against it.
