Can anybody tell me what’s going on with this and how to fix it? 2007 Chevy Shorty

Can't really see what the pulley is on, but it needs to be replaced. Can't tell if it's a compressor or what. What bus and engine is it? It would help if you put that info in your profile.

I agree. Looks like your pulley(s) are worn. Think of how a tire would wobble if the lug nuts were loose. The out of balance is likely causing a resonance that is tearing the belt off/apart. No bueno.

Thank you. Yes it’s the A/C compressor. And yes it all needs to be replaced.

Thank you. Yes it was the a/c from what a few people told us. That makes sense because it wasn’t working.

I had this happen on an Astro van once. A/C clutch failure. The compressor may not have been bad ... but the clutch broke the input shaft when it failed. The A/C clutch can be replaced independent of the A/C compressor.

AC Clutch is toast. Don't keep running it or it will take the compressor out too. You can replace the clutch and bearing/pulley pretty easily.. there is one tiny bolt and a clip that holds them in place... or you can replace the compressor.
