Exclamation [Incomplete Vehicle]

the masochist in me really went all-out this time.

1989 Thomas Built [unknown].
1986 GMC chassis.

My guess is either a Ward Patriot or a Vista;
either way it's a Type C.
30ft long, capacity of 66.

VINfo is a dead-end, stops at chassis production.
i spoke with Thomas and am currently manipulating the robots at GMC to take me to their leader (a human).

this bus belongs to me, free of charge, on the condition that i remove it from its parking space by october 30th.
engine is believed to be a 6.0L gasser (366; big block V8)
cardinal complaint is a crank no-start.

what i've noted so far:

+ BATTERY COMPARTMENT (side-mounted; driver)
- two batteries, ofc. both seem kinda small but i don't know much about busses.
- no visible chassis ground for the aux battery inside the bay. assuming standard parallel connection.
- the aux battery has no mounting harware to secure the cables.
- loose cables for aux are both dual-colored (one end red, one end black)
- no visible evidence of cabling according to this improper color coding.
- still, the decision to parallel connect has No Basis. it looks like there's room for two batteries here; or it could have been intended for one Very Bicc Boi™️
- perhaps someone used two smaller batteries and a yu-gi-oh fusion card to get enough juice.

+ CARBURETOR
- owner states starter fluid worked 1-2x before it stopped working.
- also states he added fuel stabilizer and the tank is probably full.
- no hat on the air cleaner—presumed headaches in my future.

+ SPARKY BOIS
- owner originally stated it needs plugs/wires.
- later stated wires might be new; now says it's the distributor cap.
- i mentioned exploring fuel/air concerns first, due to starter fluid efficacy and missing air cleaner hat.
- owner states to "make sure you do the distributor cap too" because "trust me bro. you'll see what i mean."
- found a new distributor cap under the soon-to-be-ex bed platform.
- owner states that one didn't fit. he says he forgot about it and "it's been a while."

homie going thru sum **** and i'm just stoked for the opportunity—but i do get the vibe he's not telling the whole truth.

**DISCLAIMER**
i'm gonna gut almost everything they started in this thing. first the floors/walls/ceilings and insulation abound. bed platform will be downsized. just not the priority right now. show me your 30ft floor plans!

***BONUS ROUND***

if anyone here is in possession of a truck that can haul it (25,300GVWR, ~18,000 curb weight) and/or a thiccccc plot of land they wouldn't mind me slowly pulling this together in (am clean, quiet, and respectful), i would be indebted to you for the next seven lifetimes.

the bus is currently located in northern colorado.

Might find some storage for rent nearby on craigslist. Ask about working on the bus in storage... Good luck!

Bus ID

Looks like a Second Gen GM B series bus, ran from 84-91. I have a 92 Vista and they as well as the ward have a distinct bread van looking front end. Blue Bird is the body manufacturer I do believe. GM did continue to develop the "Semi-Forward control" and it then became the Vista in 89 and they also used the GM-B chassis in its run. Many manufactures did use that chassis though.

(edit) I think you're talking about 2 busses now that I read that again. oops
