anyone have a link to a vin id site that works? when I look it up they tell me I have a 2013 chevy SS.

Go to the Conversion General Discussion forum, page 9, thread titled "VIN Questions". Contains just about all of the VIN decoders for the major bus manufacturers.

Unless you have a 13 digit vin, anything older than 1980 i think uses a 13 digit.
