95 t444e not building oil pressure

Hey everyone,
I have a 95 bluebird international that won't build oil pressure on the low pressure side. The ICM was recently replaced, oil is fresh, oil pump seems to be operable. Any ideas?

have you tested with a real gauge or just using the dash gauge? or being a 95 does yours have the mecahnical gauge on the dash? (near full circle needle sweep) ?

im assuming it wont start as a result?

if the oil pickup in the pan comes loose or cracks you wont build any pressure..

im assuming you have taken the filter down and inspected / replaced it?

100%. Won't start, working through the obviously likely scenarios... Oil was changed 200km ago, but went over filter anyway before pulling the pan, ICM was just replaced, and is in working order, oil pick up makes sense to look at.
Never done one, in for a big job?

did the filter fail to fill with oil? if the filter filled with oil while cranking then id be less likely to look at a pickup as the problem. LPOP gears didnt get put in backwards and score the heck out of the timing cover?

the oil pan is a big job.. at least bigger.. you have to take the motor mounts loose, likely remove the fan, disconnect the exhaust at the downpipe and tilt the engine back a good bit to get the pan to clear the front cross member. you may have to take a turbo boot or two loose as well..

some people have had their LPOP lose prime if they had a dry engine (rebuild or new oil pump parts. . I replaced my LPOP a few years ago and never had to prime it.. it just took right away..

if it fills the filter but wont build pressure.. id be inclined to think that the pressure regulator / relief spring broke or that there are serious scores in the timing cover.. (putting the LPOP gears in backwards will wreck the timing cover)..

just throwing out thoughts

High pressure oil pump needs replacing - it uses oil to work the injectors. The special hei oil pump is the culprit.
