AT545 Swap to MT643 T444E

1996 international bus with the T444e engine paired up to a AT545 and wanting to swap it out for a MT643 that i have.

anyone got a parts list and what needs to go on with the trans cooler lines and all the adapters you will need to mate it up?

i work at a international dealership and will be talking to my parts guys and navistar to try and get it written in stone what needs to go on with a list but i want some peoples experience with this swap.

go looking for the SAE2 (about 1 inch) spacer ring before anything else.. that seems to be the hardest piece to find when putting a 643 on a 444E

I think there was a thread on here detailing the swap with part numbers at one time. A couple people have had a t444e and made the swap away from an at545, most recent in my memory was one who swapped to an A2400.

Christopher is the guy you want to listen to on it, as I believe he's swapped out 2 of them and likely has the best compilation of notes on the subject. I doubt you'll find any of the required parts in the back room or the warehouse, and the t444e wasn't found all too often with an mt643, so some of the one off items are nearly unobtainable.

yes very hard to find info i tried my self with my navistar account had to pass it off to my parts guy. tinkered with it abit today will need to call the allison dealership in town.

looked at the parts break down and by the looks of it from the build sheet for my bus the fly wheel should work and i need the adapter ring and the flex plate that bolts the torque converter to the engine. but i will post pictures and part numbers aswell and try and get all the bolts and trans lines together if i end up going threw with the swap

X2 on reading and hearing how difficult to find that the adapter plate is. I wouldn’t spend any resources until I got that. Really a donor bus would be ideal.
