Cruise control buttons explained...
I have a 2007 Bus with a DT466E and allison 2500, I have cruise control enabled (have checked using servicemaxx) cruise min speed is set at 56kph and cruise max speed is set at 101kph.
However when driving the buttons do nothing, i presume when pressing cruise 'on' the switch should light up and also presume the min speed is the minimum speed it will work at?
picture of the buttons attached, they are self explanatory but just curios if i am missing something to get it to work.
any help much appreciated

You might have a bad board there... I've had that happen in a vehicle before, and had to order and replace one.

Exactly. Those switch packs are not the greatest.
Using service max I believe you should see a switch output when pressing the cruise buttons to see if it's communicating with the BCM.
The last switch pack I had required a 12 volt power supply to activate HYD. power options. Something worth checking into. Mine was corroded in a plug feeding power to it.
Have not experienced a no cruise switch pack failure but it could easily happen. We had one bus that would burn out a switch pack once year. We sent it to international and cannot find the cause. When I left the division it was on its 3rd switch pack.

The ones I had to replace were button-pods on a steering wheel, and the buttons were cracked and smashed-in, so they were likely much-more failure-prone than these would appear to be. Fortunately for me, they were also designed to be replaced in a matter of minutes, with only a couple of screws and a plug for each side.
Then about a year later, the replacement buttons also cracked again.

I will be of zero help because I'm tagging along for the answer. I plan to unlock cruise, remove speed governor, and unlock 6th gear on the 2500PTS.
though I don't have software and will pay to have it done.

Servicemax software is free.
You can purchase a nexiq clone communication adapter for communication. Think I paid $300 Canadian. I just adjusted my fan on and off temps the other day.
When I got mine it came with pirated Alison software and it communicated on my 2001 2000 series trans.
I had to use a 32 bit windows to crack the program with the supplied software. I just googled a windows 7 iso file and used it on an old laptop that I don't otherwise use..
The very least you can have the programmes up and running for diagnosing. You should be able to enable the cruise. I didn't play around to much with the Alison programme because my year of the A2000 is mechanically locked. Can be opened with a valve body swap from what I recall as well as a programing.

as long as his 2007 is truly a DT466E and not an early maxxforce DT he can use the free version of servicemaxx... 2007 was a changeover year and so it could be either

Very true and good point.
I did my best to recall wonderlands bus when I saw his no start video. I believed his was not the maxforce engine.
We all need a mini signature at the bottom of the post....

theres a link floating around here to the god-mode servicemaxx which WILL do maxxforce engines...

If he does go with windows 10 I believe it came in 64 bit only. I messed around with running a virtual OS on my old laptop but kept hanging. I formatted and installed the pirated Alison software and could not crack it on a 64 bit OS. It had to be a 32 bit OS. I cannot see why it wouldn't work on a virtual OS but I gave up and just stuck with the windows 7 and chalked up my issues to my old laptop. However you two are better in that department.
Now if he gets a better more up to date Alison program for a 64 bit.....run it.

the allison cracks typically dont work on VM's, I had to use a physical machine to get allison 2019 to work correctly.. some of the older versions may run on a VM and I believe you are right they need 32 bit to work...

thanks for the reply, need to test this. not sure how hard it will be to get a replacement. Seems easy enough to changeover as just pulls out and has 1 electrical connector out the back.

i tried this in servicemaxx, the signal for the switch was just showing off no matter what. i could see all the buttons under 'driver control switches' and none of them did anything so looks like it is the switch pack.

the same as what i am doing. Removing speed governor was easy enough, i bought a chinese nexiq and downloaded the free version of servicemaxx.
my cruise control option is already enabled so presume i have a bad switch block.
I have the cracked allison software that came with the nexiq but cant get it to work with my laptop despite following the included instructions.
6th unlock can be done by PCM performance, i have emailed the guy the number on my TCM and i can have 6th unlocked. emailed him a few days ago but he is off work until november so going to wait until he is back to get that done

Make sure the windows operating system is 32 bit for the Alison Doc program on that cracked version. I have a thread posted as Nexus......I know I spelled it wrong.
I used Windows 7, just an old laptop dedicated for the bus.

Make sure the switch pack power and ground before condemning it.
Check fuses first.
If the switch pack failed and you need a new one. It will likely need to be programmed with dlb.

I will have a look at that thread. my laptop is only a year old so is running windows 64 bit operating system so i would have to get another laptop to run the allison DOC. Not really sure if i will need to use it, presuming i wont be able to unlock 6th gear myself with the cracked DOC software.

I tried to find a fuse relevant to the switch pack and cruise control but couldn't find or see one anywhere in the electrics area

I'll try to take a look for you today if I have time.
That switch pack should be multiplexed. So it will have 2 twisted wires, dash light power, switch power and I think it has 2 grounds. 1 for sure.
Back to original post I'll search a 2007 international 300. Dt466 with A2500.
Gotta check for power and ground first.
Could be it just needs to be set up with dlb if it was disabled which is a dealer thing.
Those switch packs are not cheap......it's a mini computer really. Let's do the easy stuff. You might be dealer bound.
