DT466E Horsepower Programming

I know this has been tossed around the forums a few times but has anyone figured out how to bump up the horsepower rating on a DT466E yet? Would love to get my 175HP rig up a few notches.

For the DT or any electronic engine the available reflash is dependent on the CPL (Critical Parts List). This is the hard parts that influence the power such as injectors, turbo, and pistons, which influence the compression ratio and strength under the new power output.

I have a 215hp engine and can go to 230hp.

Call your dealer with the engine serial number and they can tell you how high you can take your engine.

most likely the 175 can go to 215.. however what is your transmission? if its an AT545, I wouldnt take it any higher than 195, the DT466E torque will ruin an AT545 in short order

Yep. 230 is the highest ST rating.

Cummins is a similiar story. Starting in 1999 with the 24 valve you could control power level with a CPU reflash.

My motor is something like 275 hp right now but motorhomes and fire trucks got the hot 330 hp tune.

I have plenty of power as is but maybe down the road i'll look into seeing what it takes to get that HP bumped up.

an IH dealer will likely Nix upping the power unless that bus has a beefy transmission in it...

If you're at the swarm maybe we should hook your fancy wires up to my Cat!
Even if we didn't make it make more power it would be cool to read all the data.

Robbieinc, if you can provide the last 8 digits of your vin I might be able to let you know what options the international dealer would like give you.
