economy mode?

2001 international 466e allison 2000 economy light next to shifter. never comes on, is it an overdrive indicator?

To turn on the economy mode you press the mode button. Then the light will turn on if it is enabled for your transmission. It lowers the rpm that the trans will shift up a gear. Slower acceleration but better economy.

yep what he said, it does nothing to the engine fueling but its purely a transmission shift schedule adjustment.. the wire if I remember right goes directly to the trans TCM and not even the engine ECM..



in later models you could set the shift schedule in the ECM programming (Power - Normal - ECON)
