Expense of head gasket replacement on DT466?

I'm looking at the possibility of buying a 1995 Genesis FE flat nose 32-ft bus with a DT466 engine and Allison AT, from a local private school. The person in charge of the school's fleet says it runs and drives well, but that it has what he calls "the beginning of a blown head gasket." He says he'd sell it to me for $2100.00.

What I need to know is about how much the replacement of the head gasket on a DT466 might cost, keeping in mind accessibility of the engine in a flat nosed front engine bus.

Any experience with this? Would it be worth doing, or cost prohibitive?

Also, is the DT466 one of those fuel hog engines, or is it one of the more fuel efficient ones?
