Heard the Click

The constant wire is not giving me 12v, so I ran the wire from the battery to the ignition side and it clicks?

i cant help with what triggers your glow plug or glow plug relay.
guess ignition switch.
i had an excavator that had a bad glow plug wire in the turn table area (bad design) so we ran a switched hot wire directly from the battery and had to count manually the 15 seconds on and then start.
timing might be longer for you but that is always an option to get going.
fix the problem and keep it as a back up.
just an idea.
