Help! 2002 Am-Tran with Int'l C215 7.6L DT466

Okay, I'm at a loss here. I bought my 2002 front engine AmTran back in October 2019, drove her 300 miles home, and have been working on her interior on and off ever since. I've driven her about a thousand miles since first picking her up.

Periwinkle was running beautifully until suddenly she wasn't. Out of the blue, she started missing and actually died twice on my way home a few weeks ago. The first time was on a hill about a mile from home; second time was about a quarter mile from home. Both times she started back up after I let her sit a few minutes. I got her home, shut her down and that was it. (I thanked her for getting me home, too!)

Gary, a friend, works in a bus garage but there's only one part time guy who knows my particular engine. Gary had their tow company come and take Periwinkle to the garage. Right now they are swamped with school bus stuff so Periwinkle is not a priority. (Plus I'm promised a special rate so I can't/won't complain.)

Last week Gary tried to start her and, for the first time since she was over there, she started right up and ran like a champ. When he went to start her again to move her, she wouldn't start. She just cranks and cranks and cranks but isn't firing. She seems to be sending fuel because her new fuel filter filled up.

What should they be looking at/for?? I'm trying not to get upset but it will be four weeks on Monday (8/9/21) ... and I'M ABOUT TO LOSE MY MIND.

Thanks for any and all suggestions.

~Michelle

p.s I apologize for the double thread - somehow I couldn't edit the first one.

Hi Michelle,

It sounds like loss of pressure in the HPOP (High Pressure Oil Pump).

It may be an easy fix.
Have a look at this: https://youtu.be/FLbppc9Z8dk

Also if it's only the rail o-rings this: https://youtu.be/C6i_Aua0G4Y

And for troubleshooting with an air compressor: https://youtu.be/iHg4G4ZEgVs
