International Reprogram for hp

Just some info.

My bus is a 2001 T444e 195hp/520torque with 2000 series transmission.

I swung by a mom and pop shop BUT an authorized international dealer.

I inquired about bumping my power rating. Took vin number, hours and milage. In 2 hrs I was approved by International. However, I can only go upto the next level of 210hp/540 torque, mechanical limiting factors.....blah blah blah.

For the total price of $1200 Canadian. I said that's nuts and the owner completely agreed. Biggest cost was issuing a new EPA sticker he said.

May be different south of the boarder from me but it's not an option as far as I'm concerned up here.

I think Orion is in the cards next summer.

International refused to 210 HP my 3Box even though it's capable.

Wouldn't even quote me a price. I may be able to do it myself though, but that's a later project.

I thought the AT 545 was only rated at 450 torque. I don't recall seeing any bus with a at545 with any higher power rating other then the base 175 HP rating.

Maybe that the reason?

Maybe it is. But I'll do it anyway lol. If the transmission can't hold up then I'll get an upgraded one when it's grenaded.

I hold little regard for my 545 at this point, and am ready to get a new transmission anyway. It's the sole hindrance to my speed being limited. I have no love for it.
