Lower air bags

Hi folks I'm needing to lower my air bags all the way to do my brake shoes and hub seals on the back of my bus I mean you do need to let all the air out right that's the right way to do it isn't it. So I was wondering do I just disconnect the height control valve arm and let the air out that way ? Thanks for helping in advance

Before you contemplate releasing the air in your suspension, you may want to place the bus on jacks or jackstands first. When you release the air from the bags the suspension will collapse. If you are in the wrong place under the bus it may trap you in there, or worse maybe squish you.
I have worked on my air ride in the "new Crown" and found things can move quickly underneath.

if you jack up the frame the air will automatically drain out. you can buy whats called a dump valve and install it so you can flip a switch and dump your air from the dash. you can also replace the leveling valve with one that has a dump valve built in. in any case be careful. i would also wire a red dash lite to the dump valve to remind me its on as you can damage your bus if you drive it in the dump position

Didn't know about the built in dump valve thanks for the info. I ended up leaving the air in and putting 3 jack stands and leaving 2 bottle jacks under there. As the extra clearance was helpful. I left one wheel on the ground with the park brake on and I caged the brake on the wheel I was working on
