Lower radiator hose WTH

I squeezed my lower radiator hose and it felt full of metal pieces. After going to passenger side and feelingn the same hose in a different place and feeling the same thing I got to thinking maybe it's the reinforcing that has broken down. It literally felt like rocks.

Anyway, any ideas? I guess I need to drain coolant and replace hoses.

Hey GT. Nice to see a local skoolie on here.

I just replaced all the rubber hoses on my bus in July. The 90 degree hoses going to the water pump had springs in them to prevent collapsing during suction. Most of the rest of them should be positive pressure so they don't usually need reinforcing. It's going to vary by bus.

If the springs came apart from rusting, you may want to drain and filter or replace the coolant anyway .

Also, most of my hoses were actually cheaper to order from bluebird than trying to make a close hose (without spring) work from Napa.
