Mt643 direct swap?

Hi, is there a different allison transmission that can be swapped directly with little to no modifications?

not really.. an MD3060 is most often an SAE2 bell but needs electronics to work.. the allison 2000 series most often found are SAE3 bell and would need flywheel / bell /spacer adjustments different than the 643.. there are SAE2 bell 2000 series out there as well.. I dont know if the offset matches a 643. those also get electronics..


if you go to a manual trans you have clutch and all to add in..



the OLD MT-40 mechanical was a "6 speed" auto of sorts. still no overdrive. it was essentially a 3 speed with a splitter..

There is an allison 2500pts with torque converter near me for $350. This was behind a cat C7.

the serial number indicates #2 bell housing, no park pawl, and no parking brake attached.

there are no electronics.......

I wanted to use this, but I think, for me, sticking with a #3 transmission will make my life easier for a swap. More expensive, but easier.
