Pink Liquid

Bus has been parked a week. I noticed pink liquid dripping from the front of the bus. Looks like trans fluid but it’s not oily. Could it be coolant?

It’s too dark out to mess with tonight. It’s just my luck to get a leak when it’s parked. It’s been bone dry since i got it. No leaks anywhere over 400 miles. I’ll investigate more tomorrow.

If its the front cover area of the engine it could very well be coolant. DT466E's after about 04 are known to sometimes blow out the coolant passages in the front engine/timing cover.
I've got an 04 with this issue and the newer the engine the more likely it is and the more expensive it is.

Water pump?

Looks like the water pump is leaking. Front passenger side?

Water pump is easy as pie on these engines! Maybe a 15 minute job.

That makes me feel better. I checked the level and warmed it up today and the leak went away. I wonder if it’s just an old dried out gasket.
