running shutdown/ hard to start

she shut down on me. at idle parked at home, thank god. 95 amtran / int 444e what i discovered....much black bio gunk in the mechanical pump pre filter. flushed and replaced, blew lung air into the delivery hose back to the tank with tank cap off to verify open hose. pulled main fuel filter and found clean but black micro bio bugs. removed the fuel regulator/ return port / schraider valve test port/fuel line hoses to the heads and pulled the plastic final particulate screen and fuel passage before the injector fuel rails. you would not believe how tiny the port passageway is. decided to open the port passageway to a larger drill size. instead used a hot needle to open the plastic. No plastic shavings to potentially clog an injector. reversed all actions. fired right up and idled well, even slightly smoother than before. powerstrokehelp.com
