The trans in my bus is a Spicer 5 speed. I think the trans is rated for 50000 gvw on hiway and 35000 gvw off hiway.
My bus comes in at 19000 lbs fully loaded, if I were to tow a trailer how close to the GVW rating can I get? If this helps my engine is the T444e.
I would like to be able to tow upwards of 9000 lbs.
EDIT!!!!!
Trans is Good for 32000-35000 lbs, i have the spicer ES43-5 transmision.
Buses GWVR is 23800 Lbs and the engine must be the 175 Hp model of the t444e as the trans is only good for 180HP.
It will tow 9000 LBS on flat ground (Im not even close to my GWVR) but i don't think it will do well at all in the mountains.... Maybe in first gear but not much else.
