We just purchased a 30' 2004 IC bus. It has the t444e and allison 2000. We unortunatly need to drive this thing to MIchigan for a funeral in two weeks. Naturally the three shops I have called do not have time to give the bus a once over before the trip! Can anyone tell me what they do for trip inspections etc. Trans fluid was changed 500 miles ago and looks brand new. Seller suggest I do oil change and lube hubs etc so Ill do that for sure. I drove it 2.5 hours home to gilbert from flagstaff so I have a couple mountain grades under my belt and it did well. It has air brakes if that matters.
So, treat this like an unknown. Bring a grease gun, rags, and tools with you . Grease the chassis, inspect belts hoses and fluids.
There are daily, weekly, monthly and yearly check lists available online hunt the check lists down and follow them. Hard to go wrong if you work your way through the check lists.
