t444e Computers, are they interchangeable? and HP boost?

I have a 2002 t444e that had a dead PCM. I am going to order a PCM off eBay probably. The engine has the hole on the valve cover data tag punched for 195 hp. I'm wondering if I can order a computer from one that was a 210 hp version and have 210 hp. Is the only difference in the power output the programming? Or are there other differences between the power versions of the engine?

I have a 1999 t444e with the 210 hp version. Would it be safe to try swapping the computers and see what happens?

IDK about swapping them, but I do know the only differences in hp are the programming. up to 230 hp. That's the Standard torque. THe High torque is different.

I know that I took a 2002 ECM and put it in a 1999 T444E bus

I took the ECM from my 1999 and put THAT back into the 2002 bus when I did my trans swap

but both engines were dialed at 175hp

so can you do it yeah...will it make your bus run funny, not at all, or boos the HP I do not know

but like for like it went in and never noticed at all

you can change the computers within generation.. up to 210 is standard torque on a T444E.. you can run the high torque program on a standard engine but you need Pyro as your EGT will run up high with the standard turbo as it spools slower..

I have my 190HP 444E turned to 250 and my bus flies but I have to watch the EGT..

your T444E of year 2002 uses the same injectors as any 99.5 and newer.. you will want to stick with year 2000 or newer ECM unless you plan to reprogram it from NavKal with the correct calibration files from the cloud for your bus.. in general the newer ECMs work better than the older ones.. the year 2000 and older ECMs had worse manners for cold weather and were terrible with the allison shift schedules and integration.. using the 2004 ECM in your 2002 bus would make it work nicely

Standard torque goes up to 230.

Quote:
Standard torque models of the 1999 DT466E offer power ranges of between 195 and 230 horsepower, with torque ratings advertised at 520 to 620 foot-pounds of torque. International also provided high-end torque models, producing 215 to 250 horsepower and 620 to 800 foot-pounds of torque.
