Actually, I'd say just the opposite. With your bus in a location you can work on it..go disturb the wires, so this doesn't happen to you on the road in a remote location. You want it to happen in your driveway.

Glad it was found and fixed.

So true. I was interested in a walk in Rescue that cost nearly a half million dollars to put on the Map. Had about 9000 miles on it. The bid was at 2400 bucks. When it came down to it everything was like new. BUT the field mechanic was unable to get it started I was able to contact the Fire Chief at the Agency that retired the vehicle He informed me the vehicle had been running perfectly and was driven to the Auction site. However at the auction site site someone had removed the electronic console that controlled auxillary functions. Wires had been snipped to disable emergency lighting etc . Apparently this disrupted the continuity of ignition circuitry
Hence the no start. The auction company had gotten back to the Fire Chief for help getting the vehicle started in prep for auction. The Chief referred the matter to his mechanic familiar with the truck. I was told the estimate for the diagnosis and repair was estimated to be $50,000.00
Yeah. Do not start snipping wires. Especially with ECM TCU sensor laden vehicles. No good can come from it.
I come from no country, from no city, no tribe. I am the son of the road... all tongues and all prayers belong to me. But I belong to none of them.
