99 3126 cruise control?

Any recommendations on installing a CC unit? The pedal has a 3 pin harness coming out. It also has a spring. So I guess it’s analog? Yet is electrical too? I haven’t found a straight forward answer on the all knowing google. Maybe y’all got a good guess? Thanks.

As best as I understand it, In a 2000 model the cruise control is a function of the ECM.

I have seen folks achieve a functioning cruise control by adding a switch and enable the feature in the ECM.

Talk to your Cat dealer. They can probably, as the other guy said, enable it in the configurations menu. Then you add the cruise control switch. May have to wire it in to the ECM as well if the harness isn't already wired for it.

Or you can find a Field Service guy at home on a weekend and get him to put his laptop on it if he has the proper connector for your bus.

there is a whole thread on this somewhere on this forum... having to add a harness and the switches and then enable it in the ECM I believe.. at least on the FS-65.. the flat nose thomas's like the HDX's have the harness already on board.. a friend of mine put the switches in and the cruise just works on his HDX

That was my thread.

I found some switches that will work. In the process of using cat et to do a cylinder cutout test I made sure that cruise was enabled (it seems to be)
Once I fix the engine I willwhy are in the switches and we will see what happens
