Cat 3116 Specs on a rebuild

I am hoping someone can help me solve this mystery.

The Cat 3116 was rebuilt in my truck It is a serial# 7SF18670

The plate on the engine has a hand etched changed over the power number to 215 and the perf spec shows OT9306.



I am trying to sort out what model year this engine really is as I want to add an exhaust brake on top of my Telma installation adventure. If the engine is the 1991 model it wont take the exhaust brake.

I had the not so great pleasure of lighting up the brakes on the last trip back from the track on a 5 mile long 6% grade and want a back up plan if it goes wrong.

Welp I am going out on a limb,

Every cat rebuilder I have spoken with said they would change the valves and springs out which means I should be safe with an exhaust brake.

I found that pacbrake still has all of the parts for a non air brake cat 3116/3126 GMC Topkick in stock and I received the kit in 2 days.

I will have to get the telma in after my 2 month every other weekend road race schedule coming up.

I bought a 1996 gmc , blue bird chassis , handicap. 8 window. 3116 9GK, at 545, bod service L00-16711, body # L019911
Anyone can lead me to how I get a chassis book/ manual? Hydraulic brakes, does have handicap door, no lift is present. Any info would be appreciated.
