What would be the age limit on opening up 6th through official channels? I don't have a problem going another way, but I'm just curious. I will definitely want to get that 6th unlocked, even if the only benefit is an extra mpg or two on the highway. Over the long haul, it adds up!

Top speed would increase if the engine produces enough torque to support it...
You're still pushing a big brick through the air.
The MD3060 is .74:1 in 5th and .61:1 in 6th so you'll get a significant rpm reduction with unlocking 6th.
And that would give a very nice spread with your 5.38 axle.
There's a thread in the tutorials about it here somewhere -- bottom line, find the thread and find an independent mechanic to do the unlock.
