Cat 7.2

Does anyone have any history with the cat 7.2 engine? Doing research on a 2005 bus.

well im buying one soon i have downpayment on it.. picking it up on the 21st of Sept. Seems like a nice engine.. the transmission/engine combo in the bus i am buying seems better than a bus my company that I drive bus for has laying around as a spare one of these Freightliner FS65's thats sitting around.... that one at my company is a 98 freightliner with a 5.9 cummins and a cough.cough. crappy AT545..(think 4 speed automatic! ) you have to beg it to speed up.

The 2003 FS65 skoolie I'm buying, which I test drove around the Twin cities, has a 7.2 Cat 3126 E? or b? and a allison 2500 PTS with 5 speed w/ overdrive automatic transmission.. when I drove it, it got up to speed well enough that I caught myself speeding a bit in traffic when I was test driving it. I didn't have to give it much effort to make it up to 50-60-70.. do with that what you will.

The 7.2 3126 is one I avoided but have grown to appreciate. they're good engines.
The C7 is one I'll stay away from.

I'd be more concerned about the electric 05.
