Double-checking Cat C7 oil and fuel filters types

Hey everyone,
I want to use CAT filers on my next oil and fuel filter change, so Im jast looking to make surte I have the correct ones. 2005 Thomas HDX Cat C7.

There is one oil filter and two fuel filters, and primary and secondary.

Oil should be: 1R-0739

Fuel should be: 1R-0751 for the primary but Im not sure on the secondary.

Can you not find your secondary filter to just get the # off the older one? Fuel Filters or at least the water separator filter may not be CAT branded. There are different set ups for that system. Main thing is to use the CAT oil filter for sure. Usually cheaper on Amazon beleive it or not, yes CAT branded too. Usually some good deals on multipacks, like 3 to 5 at a time if you have room for storage.

Ok, so what I thought was the secondary a Baldwin B5134, was actually the a coolant filter, located directly behind the oil filter.

So looks like there is 1 oil filter [CAT 1R-0739] and 1 fuel filter [CAT-1R-0751] on this engine. Makes things simpler.

That's it.

hmmm, so no water separator filter device??? I'd actually be surprised at this. Maybe someone else can chime in with an opinion too, but I don't recall ever seeing a modern diesel bus with only 1 fuel filter. I can't even think of any of our fleet of trucks not having 2 filters. Sure, I could be wrong but I'd sure hate for you to be stranded over an overlooked simple piece of maintenance that you thought was taken care of.

You might want to do yourself a favor and get under the bus and follow the fuel line from the injector pump back to the tank looking for a filter. I'd think it should be quite obvious if there's one under the bus, meaning it shouldn't be hidden or anything like that.

water filter on my GMC 7500 is close to the tank, you have to look for it but I am pretty sure there are 2 filters on a C7, mine is a 2004 and yours 2005, I bet it's the same engine as mine KAL####### you aren't looking hard enough.
