5.9 new oil leak

howdy folks.

i took the bus out this last week for about a 400 mile trip and she started leaking oil.

it looks like its coming out of the front timing cover on the front passenger side of the cover. the leak looks like its just below the water pump.

i lost about a quart over the 400 mile trip.

looks like it may be a common problem and the time to fix the killer dowel pin.

the leak just started suddenly so im wondering if this a - keep pouring oil in it and it'll be ok, or fix it right now before the dowel pin explodes you motor, kind of problem.

any advice appreciated!

I would drive and monitor the oil usage and fix it when I get back from my trip if it were mine.

That oil could blow back on the turbo and cause a fire. Might want to bite the bullet and fix it. Problem is you will have to pull the radiator if it’s a transit style bus
